aboutus

Cognorehab Inc. is a Canadian educational technology startup dedicated to developing innovative, accessible learning solutions for children. Founded in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the company combines educational research, engineering, and interactive technology to create multisensory learning experiences that support cognitive and language development.

The company was founded on the research of Dr. Tahereh Mahmoodi Ahmad Abadi, whose academic work and practical experience with blind learners inspired the development of a new approach to teaching spatial, directional, and movement concepts. Her research identified the challenges many children with visual impairments face in acquiring these concepts and laid the foundation for Cognorehab's patented educational technology.

Cognorehab was incorporated in March 2021 after receiving support from the Manitoba Technology Accelerator (MTA). Since then, our team has been focused on designing, prototyping, and refining educational technologies that make learning more engaging, accessible, and inclusive.

As an early-stage startup, we are committed to transforming educational research into practical solutions for children, educators, therapists, and families. By integrating tactile interaction, audio feedback, and sensor-based technology, we aim to develop learning tools that encourage exploration, strengthen spatial understanding, and support cognitive development.

At Cognorehab, we believe every child deserves equal access to meaningful learning opportunities. Our vision is to develop innovative educational technologies that help children of all abilities learn with confidence while supporting educators and therapists with effective, evidence-informed teaching tools.
